Let the Record Show…

Yesterday, I made it through the whole day without crying! Yippee! (Today, not so good. Oh, well.)

The baby’s room is almost empty of non-baby things, and the dresser and crib are in the garage waiting to be moved up to the room – hopefully tomorrow, because I’m sure the excessively humid garage isn’t a good place to store wood furniture for too long. I’m going to resist setting up the crib just yet, although I will unpack it to make sure all the pieces are in the box and in good condition. Then I have to make a final decision on paint colors – which is going to be hard, because I want it to coordinate with the bedding, but since we put that on the registry, I don’t actually have it in my possession yet. I guess a trip to Babies ‘R’ Us with paint chip samples is in order…

I’ve also got about half the hood on the orange cabled hoodie knit (knitted?) so far – and I have to go break out my last skein of yarn to finish it. Of course, that last skein of yarn is the one I bought as an extra “just in case”. Thank goodness I’ve gotten in to the habit of doing that – despite the fact that most of the time I end up with two skeins extra because the designer also added a fudge factor, I would have been mighty upset if I’d gotten the entire sweater done but only had enough yarn to finish half the hood! I mean, I did a fairly generous gauge swatch, but not nearly half a hood’s worth.

You know, that’s one of the things I haven’t experienced yet – the hormonal aspect of pregnancy. I haven’t been weepy or had mood swings or anything like that and I’m pretty sure that others would tell you the same thing if you asked. Just lucky? Or will I get whopped with it later on?
