Blocked, In More Ways Than One

I finished my third afghan block this morning. I also put the picture of the second block (that I finished in August) up, finally! I think, though, I’m going to alter my goal of one block a week to one block every two weeks – at least until the holiday gifts are done!

Also, I just have to say, Jay Allen’s MT-Blacklist plugin is fantastic. So far today, I’ve been bombarded with two bouts of comment spam. Both of them took me all of 30 seconds to remove. Hear that, evil comment spammers? I can eliminate your unwelcome spam in 30 seconds – meaning your links will never, ever register in Google. :P

Thanks, Peppermint Tina! If we didn’t live so far apart, I’d love to teach you how to knit!
So, blocking. Blocking is a magical thing that I only just started doing to my knitting this year. You basically get your knitted pieces wet, pin it out to the measurements it’s supposed to be, and let it dry. It sets the stitches, evening out little imperfections (well, in most yarn types, anyway) and flattening out edges.
The first time I did it, before sewing together a sweater, I swore I’d never skip that step again! It makes it so much easier to see the stitches when sewing the pieces together.
